Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DeyPage ("DeyPage," "we," "us," or "our") operates a mobile application and associated web pages that help people find and connect with local businesses across Nigeria (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using DeyPage, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. This policy is written to comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (“NDPA”) and applicable Google Play / Apple App Store data-safety requirements.

2. Who We Are

DeyPage is operated by DeyPage, registered at Nigeria. You can reach us at admin@deypagegmail.com for any privacy-related question or request.

3. Who This Policy Covers

DeyPage serves three types of users, and each may share different information with us:

• Consumers — people searching for and browsing business listings.
• Business Owners — people who list, claim, or manage a business on DeyPage.
• Field Agents — people who work with DeyPage to visit, verify, and register businesses on the ground.

4. Information We Collect

4.1 Information you give us directly

• Name, phone number, email address (all users) — to create and secure your account.
• Business name, category, address, description, photos, contact details (Business Owner) — to create and display a business listing.
• Tax / payout details (Business Owner, if paid features are enabled) — to process any payments owed to you.
• Saved / favourited businesses, search queries (Consumer) — to personalize your experience.
• Reviews, ratings, photos you upload (Consumer, Business Owner) — to show community content on listings.
• Field visit notes, GPS coordinates confirming a business's physical location (Field Agent) — to verify a listing is real and accurately located.

4.2 Sensitive identity information — Field Agent verification flow

When a Field Agent registers or verifies a business on behalf of a Business Owner, our Service may capture a photograph of the Business Owner's government-issued identity document (e.g. National ID, driver's licence, voter's card).

This is treated as sensitive personal data under the NDPA. We collect it only to:

• Confirm the business owner is a real, identifiable person;
• Reduce fraudulent or duplicate listings on the directory.

We do not use this document image for any other purpose, we do not sell it, and we limit who inside our organisation can view it (see Section 9, Data Security). The Business Owner whose ID was captured may request deletion of that image at any time by contacting admin@deypagegmail.com, unless we are legally required to retain it.

4.3 Information collected automatically

• Device information — device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, for reliability and debugging.
• Location — only when you grant location permission, used to show nearby businesses (Consumer) or to confirm a business's physical location (Field Agent). You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.
• Usage data — screens viewed, searches made, buttons tapped, used to improve the Service and diagnose problems.

We do not collect payment card numbers directly — any payment processing is handled by a third-party payment processor (e.g. Paystack), who has its own privacy policy.

5. How We Use Your Information

1. Operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
2. Show relevant business listings and search results;
3. Verify business listings are genuine (Field Agent flow);
4. Communicate with you about your account, listing, or support requests;
5. Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
6. Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects on you.

6. How We Share Information

• Publicly, as part of a business listing — a Business Owner's listing content is shown publicly to Consumers by design. We do not publicly show a Business Owner's personal identity document.
• Service providers — hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and (if enabled) payment-processing vendors, under contracts requiring them to protect your data.
• Legal reasons — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DeyPage, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers — if DeyPage is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Identity document images collected in the Field Agent flow (Section 4.2) are retained only for as long as needed to verify the listing, and are deleted on request unless we have a legal obligation to keep them.

8. Your Rights

Under the NDPA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements);
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (e.g. location permission);
• Data portability, where technically feasible.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, limited internal access to sensitive documents) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Children's Privacy

DeyPage is not directed at children. Our Consumer and Business Owner roles require the user to be at least 18 years old; our Field Agent role, which involves handling sensitive identity documents, is restricted to adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Third-Party Links

Business listings may include links to third-party websites or contact numbers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
